Kendra's Race
Kendra's Race is an annual multi-sport event organized by the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Triathlon Team. Established in 2006, the event serves as a memorial to former teammate Kendra Payne. The competition takes place on the UCSB campus and incorporates the surrounding coastal landscape. A portion of the proceeds from the event is donated to the Kendra Chiota Payne Memorial Fund.
The event provides several participation options for athletes, focusing on multi-sport and running disciplines:
- Sprint Triathlon
- Relay
- 5K Run
The race village and transition areas are situated on the UCSB campus near Lagoon Road. Logistics for the event include specific parking arrangements, with Lot 10 designated for general vehicles and Lot 5 reserved for bike trailers. The campus location provides access via Highway 217 or Los Carneros Road. Participants can access the University's interactive maps for navigation to the transition area and designated parking zones.
