Event overview
Goleta Beach Run Events presents two race days in 2025: a summer event on June 21, 2025, and a holiday event on December 20, 2025. Both events use new courses for 2025 and feature multiple distances held at Goleta Beach Park and nearby paths. Packet pickup takes place on race day from 7:00 to 9:00. All participants must register online; there are no race-day signups.
Distances
- Half marathon - out-and-back, two laps starting at Goleta Beach Park.
- 10K - out-and-back, nearly flat, starts near the Hwy 217 Bridge.
- 5K - out-and-back from the Start/Finish at Goleta Beach Park.
- 1-mile - out-and-back with turnaround near the Hwy 217 Bridge.
Courses and logistics
The courses use a dedicated bike and run path that is described as nearly flat. Half marathon and 10K routes include a scenic section along Atascadero Creek on a hard-packed soil surface for about 1.33 miles outbound, with the return on the paved bike path. Turnarounds occur at Puente Avenue for the longer distances; the 5K turnaround is just before Patterson Avenue, and the 1-mile turnaround is at the half-mile mark near the Hwy 217 Bridge. Runners on several courses cross Patterson Avenue; volunteers will be present where there is potential vehicle traffic. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
