Keiki Rainbow Run
The Keiki Rainbow Run is a community sports event held at Honolulu’s Kakaʻako Waterfront Park. The main course covers a distance of 1.3 miles and is designed to promote physical education and wellness for children and their families. Participants can choose to take part in person at the park or join via a virtual option from any location.
The event features several registration categories tailored to different age groups and needs:
- Keiki (ages 5-12)
- Other Family Members (ages 13+)
- Little Runners (age 4 and younger or with strollers)
- Virtual Run (all ages)
Keiki aged 8 and younger must be accompanied by a registered adult during the run. Those registered in the Keiki and Little Runners categories receive a running bib, a finisher t-shirt, and healthy snacks. Family members aged 13 and older receive a running bib.
Beyond the run, the event includes a Wellness Fair and an Active Zone featuring various activities. The program also serves as a fundraiser for local schools, with a portion of registration fees returned to participating schools to support their physical education and nutrition programs. Parking is available in city lots and on neighboring streets near the park. Registration is limited to 1,600 participants and no same-day registration is permitted.
