Katie's Run 5K Run/Walk

Katie's Run is an annual community event organized by the Katie McBride Foundation in New Hyde Park that honors the memory of Katie and the families of childhood leukemia victims and other life threatening diseases. The event raises funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro and the family support services it provides.

Event distances include:

• 5K
• 2 mile Fun Run/Walk
• Children's Fun Run (free after the race in the park)

Amenities listed for registrants include a premium t-shirt for online registrants, chip timing for 5K entrants, and personalized bibs for those who register by June 7. A post-race barbecue with live entertainment is planned in Memorial Park; barbecue-only admission is listed at $10 and raffle tickets start at $20.

Awards are given for 5K overall top three men and women, masters (40+) top three men and women, and age group top three men and women across standard age brackets from 10 and under through 80 and over. Additional awards recognize top local high school students and New Hyde Park residents.

Packet pickup is available at the rear entrance of New Hyde Park Funeral Home (506 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park, NY), with an early pickup option that includes entry in a raffle for event prizes. The 5K course is USATF certified. Results are provided live online and via email and text, with same-day finish line photos and event video.
