Katie's Run 5K Run/Walk 2027
Katie's Run is an annual community running event organized by the Katie McBride Foundation in memory of Katie and to support families affected by childhood leukemia and other life threatening diseases. The event raises funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro and family support services.
The event includes multiple distances:
- 5K - timed race with chip timing and awards
- 2 mile Fun Run and Walk - untimed community run and walk
- Children's Fun Run - free after the race in the park; registration not required
Amenities and event features include a premium t shirt for online registrants, personalized bibs for those who register by June 7, a post race BBQ celebration with live entertainment in Memorial Park, and raffle tickets available for purchase. Awards are presented for 5K overall top three men and women, Masters (40+) top three men and women, and age group top three men and women across standard age categories from 10 and under through 80 plus. Special awards are listed for top local high school students and residents.
Bib pickup is available at the rear entrance of New Hyde Park Funeral Home (506 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park, NY); early pickup entrants are entered into a raffle for Mets game seats. The course is USATF certified. Live online, email, and text results plus same day finish line photos are provided. Registration is not yet open and will open prior to the event.
