Katie Oppo Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The Katie Oppo Memorial 5K Run/Walk is a community road event held in Manhasset, New York to raise funds for ovarian cancer research. The course and race day details are managed by the event organizers at Flower Hill Village Park, located at Bonnie Heights and Searingtown Road.
The event benefits the Katie Oppo Research Fund, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to funding research into SCCOHT and other forms of ovarian cancer. All proceeds are directed to the research fund and are granted to cancer research institutions and individual researchers.
Event amenities include live online, text, and email results, free finish line photos, and free video and same day finish line pictures. Personalized race numbers are available for participants who register at least three weeks before the event.
Awards and team recognition are part of the event program; photos are taken of the top five largest teams and featured on event social media, and the largest team receives refillable water bottles from the Katie Oppo Research Fund.
Registration is not yet open. Participants should allow extra time for bib pickup on race day. Participants must know their bib number to collect a bib; a self lookup area is provided and late registrants may receive their bib number by text.
