Kanuga Triathlon - Hendersonville, NC
The Kanuga Triathlon takes place in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Hendersonville, North Carolina on August 22, 2027. The event combines open water swimming, a mixed surface bike course, and a trail run on forested terrain. It is presented for both experienced multisport athletes and people new to triathlon.

The swim is a single-loop open water course with a time-trial start to reduce crowding. The bike course is primarily paved with two short unpaved connector sections of about one mile each; a range of bikes including road bikes with wider tires, gravel, cyclocross, and mountain bikes are suitable. The race includes a dedicated E-Bike Division. The run follows the Kanuga trail system, mixing single-track, double-track, forest road, and short paved sections with gentle climbs and runnable flats.
Event services include professional chip timing with timing mats, age group awards, a custom finisher medal, clearly marked routes with GPS-supported navigation, and a commemorative shirt (free if registered by July 12; $25 after). A virtual race option is available and virtual participants receive mailed swag. Accommodations are offered at Kanuga Inn & Lodging with on-site lodging and primitive camping at participant rates.
