Special Olympics Run for the Gold 5K
The Special Olympics Run for the Gold 5K is scheduled for November 7, 2026 at Rankin Lake Park in Gastonia, North Carolina. The event supports Special Olympics Gaston County and is presented to celebrate inclusion, community, and the athletes who take part.
The course distance is 5K. Participants may run, walk, roll or cheer from the sidelines. Costumes are encouraged and participants are invited to dress as a favorite superhero. The event will proceed rain or shine.
Registration opens November 11, 2025 and closes November 6, 2026. The listed registration fee is $30. Packet pickup is scheduled for November 6 at First United Methodist Church of Gastonia, 190 E Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28052.
Race shirts and medals are not guaranteed for registrations completed after October 15, 2026. Top male and female awards are listed by age division: 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and up.
