Hickory Foundation YMCA Turkey Trot - 25th Annual (2026)
The Hickory Foundation YMCA Turkey Trot is scheduled for November 21, 2026 at the Hickory Foundation YMCA, 701 1st St NW, Hickory, NC 28601. Proceeds support the YMCA's mission to provide programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body in the Hickory community.
Event distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 10K Run (6.2 miles)
- Youth Fun Run (one lap, ages 1 to 12)
- Phantom 5K and Phantom 10K (do-it-yourself virtual options)
The Youth Fun Run takes place in the field behind the Hickory Foundation YMCA and is open to children 12 and under; parents may accompany participants. The Phantom events allow participants to run or walk at any time and location that is convenient and safe; registration by November 9 is required to receive the race t-shirt.
All participants who enter by November 8, 2026 will receive the event long sleeve t-shirt; shirts after that date are not guaranteed in all sizes. Top male and female overall winners in the 5K and 10K receive a one-month YMCA membership, a $50 Dick's Sporting Goods gift card, a turkey, and a trophy; overall winners are not eligible for age-group awards. Adult age-group prizes include Fleet Feet gift cards for first through third places and specified age ranges. Youth age groups receive medals. A special presentation recognizes the oldest male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K.
Packet pickup is handled at the C.O. Miller Teen Center on the Hickory Foundation YMCA grounds; team pickup is available for group leaders and individual pickup is offered before race day and on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
