K9 Run
The K9 Run is a community canicross event held in Burnaby, British Columbia, at 3760 Sperling Ave. This race brings humans and dogs together to complete a course by running or walking. The event focuses on promoting physical and mental health for both participants and their pets while raising awareness for pet adoption and supporting local dog rescues.
Participants can choose from three main distance options:
- 2.5 km Fun: suitable for all fitness levels and dog sizes; allows up to two dogs per person.
- 5 km Classic: a distance designed for those looking for a balance of fitness and leisure.
- 10 km Challenge: a route requiring endurance and teamwork between the runner and their dog.
The event is open to runners with or without dogs. Children aged 12 and under can participate for free when accompanied by a registered adult. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual participant option is available for residents across Canada.
The race site features a vendor village, a dog adoption zone, and a dog-friendly marketplace with various entertainment. Registered participants receive a race kit that includes a bib, a finisher medal, and a swag bag. Professional race day photos and video highlights are also captured during the event.
