K9 Run is a team race where people and their dogs run or walk together. The event takes place at Burnaby Lake on May 24, 2026, and offers multiple course lengths to suit different abilities and ages.
Distances offered:
- 2.5K Fun - open to all dog sizes, puppies, seniors, kids and families.
- 5K Classic - a balance of fun and fitness for active duos.
- 10K Challenge - the longest course, requiring endurance and teamwork.
Each participant receives a kit that includes a completion medal, race bib, and a selection of treats and goodies for the dog. A Vendor Village features local businesses, rescue organizations, and products for dogs and humans. An Adoption Zone connects attendees with local dog rescues and adoptable dogs.
Professional race day photos and video highlights will be available after the event. The event also includes giveaways and prizes such as dog gear, treats, and running essentials for humans.
