About the Event
The Vancouver First Responders Half Marathon - Trail Edition is an annual running event held on the Sasamat Trail in Vancouver, BC. This event serves to recognize the vital role of first responders and raise awareness for the challenges they face while serving their communities.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 21.1 km (Half Marathon)
- 10 km
- 5 km (Run or walk)
Team events are available for the 10 km and 21.1 km distances. These are designed for groups of four runners who all complete the full course simultaneously. Team results are determined by calculating the average time of all four individual members.
All entry packages include a short-sleeve cotton casual running shirt for those registered before October 15, a finisher medal, and chip timing with live results. The course features fully stocked aid stations and post-race snacks. Participants also have the option to fundraise for organizations such as Wounded Warriors Canada and the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Age requirements are in place for this event: participants must be at least 16 years old for the half marathon and at least 10 years old for the 10 km distance. A photo ID is required for check-in on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
