Juneteenth March 4M Run/Walk/Roll
This event is a Juneteenth 4 mile run, walk, or roll in Central Park with Race Central at the Naumburg Bandshell. The event is held rain or shine and offers an informal bag check; participants are advised to pack light because the event is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
The course is a USATF certified 4 mile route. The route begins on East Drive, then proceeds with a left onto 102nd Street crossing, a left onto West Drive heading south, and a final left onto Terrace Drive to the finish. Participants should expect an approximately 10 minute walk to the start line on East Drive; announcements will be made when it is time to proceed and participants are asked to stay alert and avoid using headphones.
A staffed water station is available at Mile 2 and additional hydration is provided at the finish. Bib pickup is handled by event staff starting one hour before the event; registering three weeks in advance allows for a personalized bib. Last-minute registrants within 24 hours receive their bib number by text within 90 seconds.
Amenities include vendors, music, live results, and free finish-line photos. All proceeds support the Harlem Center building fund, a 20,000 square foot community center hosting services from 30+ community based organizations across the five boroughs to address economic inclusion, arts, health and wellness, recidivism, anti-LGBTQ issues, and other unmet community needs. The coalition behind the center was formed in response to low funding levels for Black nonprofit organizations in New York. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
