Juneteenth March 4M Run/Walk/Roll
The event takes place in Central Park with Race Central at the Naumburg Bandshell and is held rain or shine. The course is USATF certified and covers 4 miles; the route starts on East Drive, turns left onto 102nd Street crossing, then left onto West Drive heading south, with a final left onto Terrace Drive to the finish.
Participants should expect to walk about ten minutes to the start line on East Drive and allow time to pick up a bib and use restrooms before proceeding. Announcements will be made before the start; participants are asked to stay alert and avoid using headphones so they do not miss important race instructions.
A staffed water station is located at Mile 2, with additional hydration available at the finish. Amenities include an informal bag check, vendors, music, live results, and free race photos. Bib pickup is managed by event staff beginning one hour before the event; registering three weeks in advance makes a personalized bib available. A bib number is required for pickup; last minute registrants within 24 hours receive their bib number by text within 90 seconds.
All proceeds support the building fund of the Harlem Center, a 20,000 square foot community facility serving 30 plus community based organizations across five boroughs with programs ranging from economic inclusion and the arts to health and wellness. The center was organized by a coalition to increase funding and capacity for Black non profit organizations that historically receive a small share of available funding.
