Johnson City Jingle Jaunt
The Johnson City Jingle Jaunt 5K and Kid’s K is a festive holiday athletic event held in Johnson City, Texas. The race is an official part of the local Lights Spectacular, a seasonal display of holiday lights. The course starts and finishes near Johnson City Park at the intersection of Avenue G and Main Street, situated near the historic Blanco County Courthouse.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km
- Kid’s K
The 5K route follows a flat and fast course through the streets of the Hill Country town. One aid station is available at approximately the halfway point, providing water and sports drinks. All participants receive a custom finisher medal, jingle bells, and access to high-resolution race photos after the event. Those registered for the 5 km distance also receive a race T-shirt.
A holiday costume contest is held during the event, and participants are encouraged to wear festive attire. Strollers are permitted on the course. Following the run, food vendors are available on-site. Awards are presented to the top male and female overall and master finishers in the 5 km, as well as to the top three finishers in several age groups ranging from 19 and under to 70 and up. The Kid’s K also awards prizes to the top three boys and girls.
Packet pickup is conducted on the morning of the race at the Memorial Park Gazebo. Parking is accessible at the courthouse and throughout the downtown area on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
