Johns Hopkins Below the Belt: Stride and Thrive is scheduled for June 7, 2026 at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. The event marks its 10th anniversary and coincides with National Cancer Survivors Day. It raises funds to support gynecologic cancer research, education, and clinical care at the Johns Hopkins Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service. Over the past decade the community has raised more than $1.3 million for these purposes.
The program offers on-site running and walking options and virtual participation choices. The on-site course passes areas of the zoo where participants may pass zebras and giraffes. Virtual participants may choose an entry that includes a T-shirt or a free option without a T-shirt; virtual entries have optional access to an app to record 5K time. For on-site and some in-person entries, children under the age of 2 are free and do not need to register.
Registration windows and fees vary by event type; some entries required paid registration while one virtual option is free. Specific registration open and close dates and fees are available from the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
