Girls on the Run Central Maryland Howard County 5K
This event is the season-ending celebratory 5K for Girls on the Run Central Maryland Howard County. The 5K is intended to provide program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment at the end of the season. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2026, at 7150 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD 21046.
The course length is 3.1 miles and is presented as an inclusive, noncompetitive celebration where participants may walk, run, push or roll at their own pace. All Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole participants receive a commemorative medal. Registered participants receive a 5K shirt if registered by April 27, 2026. Program participants and coaches are registered through the program and do not need to complete separate registration.
Packet pick-up is handled through Feet First at 5305 Village Center Drive and is intended for registrants who are not girls or coaches in the program. Registration types listed include 5K Buddy and Community Participant, each shown with a stated fee of $40; no refunds are allowed. All entrants sign a liability waiver.
The council describes several event elements and safety measures: bibs for every participant, assigned running buddies, course monitoring and head counts, a documented safety plan, designated accessible parking, volunteers who undergo background checks, merchandise for sale, and on-site activities such as sign making, a photo booth, water stops and happy hair stations.
