Howard County 5K Celebration
The Howard County Fall 2026 celebratory 5K is the end of season event for Girls on the Run Central Maryland. It takes place on November 21, 2026, at 7150 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia MD 21046. The course length is 3.1 miles and is presented as a celebratory, noncompetitive event that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment.
Program participants and coaches are already registered through the council. Community participants and 5K buddies may register; both registration types are listed at forty dollars. All registered participants must sign the standard liability waiver. GOTR and H&S participants receive a commemorative medal. A 5K shirt is provided to registrants who register by April 27, 2026. The event is intended to be accessible; the course can be walked, run, pushed, or rolled and designated parking spots are available. Safety measures include required race bibs, assigned running buddies, course monitoring and head counts, a council safety plan, and background checks for volunteers appointed through the council. The event program includes additional activities such as sign making, a photo booth, water stops, happy hair stations, and merchandise sales.
