Johns Hill, Killbrannish
Johns Hill, Killbrannish is a mountain running event held in County Carlow as part of the Southeast League. The race takes place on terrain classified as moderate, utilizing the Deerpark Mountain Biking and Hiking Trails. The course primarily features marking only at major junctions, and the use of GPS devices is permitted for navigation.
Participants can choose from two available race distances:
- 9.00 km with 500 m of ascent
- 5.00 km (Short Course)
The event adheres to Level B mandatory kit requirements. All participants must bring a waterproof jacket, a hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. The final requirements regarding which items must be carried during the run are determined on the day based on weather conditions.
Registration is located in the car park near the start line at Deerpark. Access to the venue is available via Barker's Road from Bunclody or through the Corabut gap from Myshall. Prizegiving and refreshments are provided at the finish line following the conclusion of the races. Entry is limited to 250 participants.
