Stook 10 Mile, 10k & 5k 2026
Stook 10 Mile, 10k and 5k take place in Dungarvan, Gowran, County Kilkenny and are organised by Gowran AC to raise funds for their juvenile squads. The event offers chip timing for the 10 km and 5 km races.

The 10 mile course runs through country roads and gentle valleys, climbs to the crest of Stook Hill, then includes a timed downhill mile called the Stook Flying Mile with timing mats at each end to record a split for that mile. After the flying mile the route continues downhill, includes about 200 m of uphill, and finishes with a short downhill section. The description notes varied terrain and sections of both uphill and downhill running, and highlights views from the hill crest.
The event began in 2012 and attracts runners from a range of clubs in nearby counties. Organisers report regular feedback on the route and event organisation and aim to maintain and build that standard each year.
