45th Annual John Wall Memorial One Mile Track Run
Held at the Severna Park High School track, the John Wall Memorial One Mile Track Run invites participants to complete the classic one mile distance. The course consists of four laps of the 400-meter track plus an additional 9.344 meters to reach the exact mile measurement. This event serves as the fourth race in the 2026 Annapolis Striders Championship Series.
The event is organized into multiple heats to accommodate various speeds. It begins with a dedicated youth heat for runners aged 10 and under, followed by mixed heats for adults and older children. These subsequent heats are grouped by estimated finish times, starting with slower participants and concluding with the fastest runners in the final heat. This structure is designed to minimize lapping and passing on the track.

The race is chip-timed, and runners are required to attach a timing chip to their shoes before their heat. Awards are presented following the conclusion of the final heat, with categories for overall winners, Masters (40 and over), and several five-year age groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over.
For safety and fairness on the track, participants are not permitted to use headphones, earbuds, speakers, baby joggers, strollers, or other wheeled conveyances. Animals are also prohibited from the event. Runners are instructed to pass others on the right side and maintain awareness of fellow participants.
