Multiple checkpoint dib points are used and competitors must carry and use the provided SI dibber at each check point. The race is held under FRA rules and requires full FRA kit; mandatory items listed include waterproof top and bottoms, hat, gloves, emergency food, map, compass and whistle. Kit checks will take place and failure to carry required equipment may lead to disqualification. There is a retirement procedure requiring competitors to report to the finish and hand in their race number and dibber.
