About the race
Jingle Hells is a confirmed fell race on 20 December 2026 based at the Scout Hut in Rectory Field, Church Stretton (SO452938). The course is fully marked and listed as 10 km with total ascent of 1056 m. The start and finish are on Rectory Field and the event centre is the Scout Hut.
Entries are available via SI Entries or on the day with a pre-entry fee of £8.00 and an on-the-day fee of £10.00. Registration is at the Scout Hut in Rectory Field. Parking is suggested at the main car park by the Co-op (SO454936) or sensibly in town.
The race is run under FRA rules and FRA safety requirements; all competitors must comply and carry the equipment specified by the FRA and race organisers. Mandatory kit includes waterproof top and bottoms, hat, gloves, emergency food, map, compass and whistle. Competitors will be kit checked and must wear their race number visibly on the chest. An SI dibber is issued and must be used at all checkpoints.
The route includes steep sections and substantial ascent, with the last third described as tough. Checkpoints and cut-off times are strictly enforced and competitors who miss them will be asked to retire. Retirement requires reporting to the finish and surrendering number and dibber to an official. The route avoids environmentally sensitive areas with National Trust approval.
