Event details
Jingle Hells is a fell race organised by Mercia Fell Runners Club on Sunday 21 December 2025. The race centre is Church Stretton Scout Hut (grid ref SO452938) with parking at the main Church Stretton car park (approx SO454937). The course distance is 10 km (about 6.4 miles) with around 1000 m of total ascent. Entry is available by pre-entry or on the day; the pre-entry fee is £8 and the on-day fee is £10. Teams and junior races are not provided. Competitors must meet a minimum age of 18. The event has FRA permit/insurance and is run under FRA rules.
Route, equipment and controls
The route is a mix of existing Long Mynd paths with some unique links. Key features include Rectory Wood, Town Brook, the Yearlet and Ashlet areas, Long Synalds ridge, the Balcony Path, Grindle summit and descents through Callow and Ashes Hollow. The course is waymarked where possible and uses multiple dib points/checkpoints. There is a cut-off of 1 hour 30 minutes to the top of Grindle; checkpoints and cut-offs will be enforced.
FRA safety requirements apply and competitors must carry full required kit. Mandatory items listed include waterproof top and bottoms, hat, gloves, emergency food, map, compass and whistle. SI dibbers are used and numbers must be visible; random kit checks will take place and noncompliance may lead to disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
