Course, safety and logistics

The route is a steep, upland course of 10 km with approximately 1000 m of ascent. The course follows Long Mynd ridges and valleys and is described as having most of the route waymarked for 2025; the final third is steeper and more sustained. There are multiple checkpoints with dibber (SI) read points and marshals. Checkpoints and cut-off times will be strictly enforced and competitors may be asked to retire if they do not meet requirements. Retirement must be reported at the finish and the race number and dibber surrendered.

The race is run under FRA rules and competitors must carry full FRA-specified kit. Mandatory items listed include waterproof top and bottoms, hat, gloves, emergency food, map, compass and whistle. There will be random kit checks and non-compliance can lead to disqualification. Parking is advised at the main Church Stretton car park by the Co-op. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
