Jingle Hells
Jingle Hells is a provisional fell race held from Scout Hut in Rectory Field, Church Stretton (SO452938). The course distance is 10 km (6.2 mi) with total ascent of 1056 m (3465 ft). The entry fee is £8.00 pre entry or £10.00 on the day. The event is insured by the FRA.
The race is graded AS, indicating local knowledge is beneficial and experience is required. Minimum age is over 18. The organiser notes that this is not an easy fell race and is unsuitable for novice or unfit fell runners.
The route was planned with the approval of the National Trust to avoid environmentally sensitive areas; competitors must keep to the described route. Check points and cut off times will be strictly enforced and competitors will be asked to retire if they do not meet them. There is a specific cut off of 1 hour 30 minutes to the top of Grindle to protect marshal safety in winter conditions.
