Event details

Jingle Hells is a fell race organised by Mercia Fell Runners on 21 December 2025 in Church Stretton, with the event centre at the Scout Hut (Rectory Field / SY6 6DQ). The course distance is 10 km and the route includes approximately 1000 m of total ascent. Entry is available as pre-entry or on-the-day; the stated pre-entry fee is £8 and on-the-day fee £10. Minimum age for entry is 17.

Route, safety and race rules

The route is a mash-up of existing Long Mynd race paths with some unique links and will be marked as much as possible. The course uses multiple checkpoints with SI electronic dibbers; competitors must insert the dibber at each checkpoint. Competitors must carry full FRA kit as required by the organisers: waterproof top and bottoms, hat, gloves, emergency food, map, compass and whistle; random kit checks will be carried out and non-compliance may lead to disqualification. There is a cut-off to reach the top of Grindle (1 hour 30 minutes) and checkpoint cut-offs will be strictly enforced. Retirement requires reporting to the finish and surrendering number and dibber to an official. Parking is advised at the main Church Stretton car park by the Co-op or responsibly in town. The organiser notes the race is steep and not suitable for novice or unfit fell runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
