Jingle Bell Run - Christchurch
The Jingle Bell Run is a Christmas-themed event designed for children, held along the promenade at Southbourne Beach in Bournemouth, Dorset. The course covers a distance of up to 3 km on a flat, tarmacked surface. As an out and back route, participants have the flexibility to turn around at any point if they do not wish to complete the full distance.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association (TRA) and conducted under UK Athletics (UKA) rules. Because the course allows for partial completion, no official results or rankings are recorded for this run. The event is open to participants aged 17 and under, and adults are permitted to run alongside the children.
Participants are encouraged to wear festive attire, such as Santa suits, Christmas fairy costumes, or themed hats. On-site entertainment includes various games and activities. Every child who participates receives the following items:
- A commemorative medal
- A "Jingle Bell" Christmas tree decoration
- A sweet treat
The event location is accessible via public transport, with the nearest train stations located at Christchurch and Pokesdown for Boscombe. Local bus services also operate in the area. For those traveling by car, paid and on-street parking options are available near the start and finish area, with Warren Edge being the closest car park.
