Jersey City Marathon & Half Marathon - Newport, April 19, 2026
The Jersey City Road Runners, in partnership with the City of Jersey City, presents the 4th Annual Jersey City Marathon and Half Marathon at Newport on April 19, 2026. The event is a USA Track & Field sanctioned race on a USATF certified course that the organizer describes as fast and flat. Runners will move through several of Jersey City’s diverse and culturally rich neighborhoods. The race is listed as a 2027 Boston Marathon qualifying event.
The event offers two distances:
- 26.2 miles Full Marathon
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon
Wheelchair participants must use push rim wheelchairs; hand crank wheelchairs are not permitted. Wheelchair entries are restricted to the half marathon only, and elite or very fast wheelchair athletes will be subject to a maximum pace per mile because the course includes some narrow sections, rail tracks, and two cross-over sections.
Expo entry is included with registration and bib pickup may be completed at the expo. Refunds are not allowed; transfers and deferrals are possible with an administration fee and switching between events may incur a $25 administration fee. Spectators are advised that good viewing locations include the start and finish area and Grand Street. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
