Jeremiah House of Hope 5K
The second annual Jeremiah House of Hope 5K is a charity fun run and walk raising awareness and funds for the Sandhills Jeremiah Project. The Jeremiah 2911 House is a faith based ministry that provides support and housing opportunities for single pregnant women and single mothers with children who face homelessness. Proceeds, less operating costs, will go to the charity.
The event is a self paced run/walk along the Aberdeen Lake Trail. The course is described as scenic, well maintained, and well marked. Due to flood damage to a bridge, the route has a slight change from the prior year; the course starts in the main park area, goes out to the northwestern trail limit, and returns twice.
Location and practical details are provided for participants. The event takes place at Aberdeen Lake Park, 301 Lake Park Crossing, Aberdeen NC. Registration opens January 22, 2026 and closes May 30, 2026; the listed registration fee is $40. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at a local coffee shop in Aberdeen, and same day packet pickup and registration are available at the start area. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female in each event category. Participants receive a race t shirt, though shirts may not be guaranteed for late registrations.
Families and spectators can use park trails, playgrounds, and fishing areas; nearby towns offer additional shopping and dining options. Weather in May is typically warm to hot with possible summer showers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
