The Jeet Patel Memorial 5K
The Jeet Patel Memorial 5K is a community road event held on April 25, 2026 at East Shore Park in New Haven, Connecticut. The event program includes two race options:
- 5k Run
- 5k Walk
Proceeds support local youth and service programs, including police cadet programs, Eagle Scouts, New Haven Marines, and the Hamden Police Department. The event also features individual prizes by gender and a team prize structure. Cash prizes per gender are listed as: first place $125, second place $100, and third place $25. The fastest team receives $500; teams must have at least five racers, the fastest five times per team are counted, and an unlimited number of participants may register on a team.
The course runs along the water and is described as flat and scenic. It is marked and supported by volunteers, with water stations provided along the route. The course is closed to traffic for the race. Additional on-site activities after the race include food, drinks, and interactions with Marines and police officers.
