JCC Falafel 5K and Splash+Dash 2026
The JCC Falafel 5K and Splash+Dash is held in Asheville, North Carolina, with the main event area located at 40 Clyde Street. This community event benefits the Asheville JCC, supporting various programs and lifelong learning initiatives. Participants have multiple ways to engage with the event, ranging from traditional running to multi-sport challenges.
Available distances and divisions include:
- 5k run
- 1k Kids run
- Virtual 5k
- Splash+Dash Long Course (800-yard swim and 5k run)
- Splash+Dash Short Course (200-yard swim and 5k run)
The 5k race features an official course starting from the pavilion, with one aid station located just after the first mile. For those participating in the Splash+Dash, the swim portion takes place at the JCC Pool before the run. Transition times between the swim and run are not included in the final scoring. A virtual option is available for those who prefer to log their 5k on a self-selected course and submit their results online.
Competitive prizes are awarded for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as first-place finishers in 10-year age groups. Recognition is also given to the fastest stroller runners and dog-human teams. Following the athletic events, participants receive a falafel sandwich and access to a private pool party at the AJCC Aquatics Center.
