JCC Falafel 5K and Splash+Dash 2026
The event takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 40 Clyde Street in Asheville, North Carolina, on the field next to the JCC pool. Proceeds support the Asheville JCC and its programs and lifelong learning opportunities.
The weekend includes several race options and youth activities. Distances and formats offered include:
- Falafel 5K
- Virtual 5K, where participants run a course of their choosing and submit times
- Splash Plus Dash short course: 200 yard swim then the 5K run
- Splash Plus Dash long course: 800 yard swim then the 5K run
- Youth 1K run for children aged 3 to 9
The Falafel 5K has prize categories for the top three overall men and women, first place stroller runners, first place dog and human teams, and first place in each 10-year age group for men and women. Splash Plus Dash entrants have swim and run times tracked; transition time is not counted. One aid station is available shortly after the first mile.
Extras for participants include a complimentary falafel sandwich, an ice cream truck on site, and access to a private pool party at the AJCC Aquatics Center following the event. A special New Year pricing discount of ten dollars is available for registrations completed by January 31. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
