Seven Sisters 25k
The Seven Sisters 25k is a trail race in the Montreat Wilderness near Montreat, NC, held on April 11, 2026. The course covers approximately 14.5 miles with about 4,000 feet of elevation gain. Most of the route is singletrack, with roughly 13.5 miles of trail and about 1 mile of pavement.
The route passes multiple peaks and overlooks, including Lookout Rocks, Rocky Head, Graybeard, Rattlesnake Rocks, and the Seven Sisters section along the West Ridge Trail. Terrain is steep and technical in places, with many roots and rocks on the trails. The race has a time limit of 5.5 hours.
Aid stations are located near mile 4 and mile 8 and provide at minimum water and Gatorade; available foods include bananas, potato chips, pretzels, and M&Ms. Required trail running experience is stated as a prerequisite for participation. Required gear includes a rain shell, at least a 20 oz water carrying device, a whistle, a cell phone, and an emergency blanket.
Entry fee is $80. Refunds are available minus a $20 fee if requested up to 60 days before the event; transfers or deferments are not allowed. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers; all finishers receive a hand-made medal and a race t-shirt. The event is cupless and there is no parking at the start area.
