Seven Sisters 25K - Montreat, NC
The Seven Sisters 25K is a mountain trail race held in Montreat, North Carolina on April 17, 2027. The course is roughly 25 kilometers and runs around the East and West ridges of the Montreat Wilderness.
The route passes over multiple peaks and overlooks, including Lookout Rocks, Rocky Head, Graybeard, Rattlesnake Rocks, and the Seven Sisters section along the West Ridge Trail. The course is mostly singletrack trail, about 95% trail surface, and features approximately 4,000 ft of elevation gain. The event has a five hour time limit. Aid stations are located at about mile 4 and mile 8 and operate with cutoffs.
Participants must carry required safety gear at all times: a rain shell, at least a 20 oz water carrying device, a whistle, a cell phone, and an emergency blanket. Race rules require staying on marked trails, not cutting switchbacks, using proper trail etiquette when passing, avoiding littering, and obeying race officials. The race is cupless.
Logistics note that parking is not at the start; designated parking sites are nearby and the start/finish area is about one third of a mile from parking. Packet pickup is available the day before at a downtown Black Mountain location and on race morning. Top three male and female finishers receive handmade awards; all finishers receive an award. Refunds are minus $20 up to 60 days before the event; no transfers or deferments are allowed. If the race must be canceled, it may be converted to a virtual run on the actual course with no refunds.
