About the race
The Ville to Ville Relay on April 10, 2027 is a team running relay that travels from Asheville, NC, to Greenville, SC. The 72-mile course crosses mountain peaks and foothills and finishes at Hampton Station in Greenville with a post-race celebration featuring music, food, and craft brews. The 2027 edition is the event's tenth annual running and is currently sold out; interested teams are placed on a waiting list. Teams consist of three to six runners who divide the course into 12 legs.
- 12 legs, ranging from 3 to 9 miles. Each team supplies its own vehicle to transport runners between designated transition areas. Packet pickup and welcome receptions are scheduled for April 8 at Southernside Brewing Company in Greenville and April 9 at Asheville Sports Club in Asheville; times are to be determined. All participants must be at least 21 years old. Registration requires a $305 deposit or an option to pay the full $780 team fee ($130 per person).
Teams that pay only the deposit must pay the remaining $475 by January 15, 2027; teams with unpaid balances on January 16 will forfeit their spot and the non-refundable deposit. Team rosters should be finalized by March 5, 2027. A 5.5% processing fee applies to online payments. Team categories include Open Co-ed, Open, Open Female, Masters, Masters Female, and Masters Co-ed.
Teams estimate each member's 10K pace during registration; teams must maintain an average pace of 11:00 minutes per mile or faster to complete the course in one day. The event is rain or shine, and the race director may alter the course or event in response to weather, road closures, or state restrictions.
