Ville to Ville Relay

Event overview

The Ville to Ville Relay is a one-day, team running relay held on April 11, 2026, traveling from Asheville, NC to Greenville, SC. The course covers 72 miles through the Appalachian region, passing local craft breweries and small towns. The 2026 edition is the ninth annual event. The race concludes at Hampton Station in Greenville with a finish area that includes music, food, and craft brews.

Format and rules

Teams consist of three to six runners who split the course into 12 legs ranging from 3–9 miles. A six-person team’s roster will have each runner complete two legs. Each team must provide its own vehicle for drop-offs and pick-ups at designated transition areas. All runners must be 21 or older. Teams must estimate an average team pace at registration; the required overall team pace to reach the post-race party in one day is 11:00 minutes per mile or faster.

Registration, fees and categories

The 2026 event is sold out and the waiting list is closed. Team registration requires a non-refundable deposit of $300 or payment of the full fee of $775. Teams that pay only the deposit must pay the remaining $475 by January 15, 2026; unpaid teams on January 16, 2026, will lose their spot. A 5.5% processing fee applies. Team rosters and team names can be finalized or changed until March 5, 2026. Team categories include Open Co-ed, Open, Open Female, Masters, Masters Female, and Masters Co-ed.

Packet pickup and logistics

Packet pickup events are scheduled the Thursday and Friday before the race at Southernside Brewing Company, 25 Delano Dr, Greenville, SC, and Asheville Sports Club, 137 Coxe Ave, Asheville, NC, with additional pickup at the starting area on race day. The starting line location is 2 Rocket Drive, Asheville, NC 28803. The event is rain-or-shine; the race director may alter the course or event for inclement weather or state restrictions.
