Woodfin 5K, 10th Annual
The 10th Annual Woodfin 5K takes place on April 24, 2027 at Woodfin Elementary School, 108 Elk Mountain Road, Asheville, NC 28804. The event is a 5K run/walk hosted by Woodfin Elementary School to raise funds for the school and its classrooms.
Registration and donations support Woodfin Elementary. Since 2014 the Read - Write - Run event has raised more than $80,000 to support students in Kindergarten through Grade 4. All entries include a custom race t-shirt, with a note that a t-shirt or a particular size cannot be guaranteed for registrations received after April 11.
The event is organized with support from the Woodfin Elementary School PTO, the Town of Woodfin, YMCA of WNC, New Life Community Church, Reynolds Mountain Homeowners Association, and community sponsors and volunteers. Packet pickup is scheduled at Woodfin Elementary School on the day before the race and on race day.
Registration fees vary by date: $25 through January 28, 2027; $28 January 29 through March 30, 2027; $32 March 31 through April 23, 2027; and $36 on race day. Children 11 and under race for free but must register online.
Awards are given to the top 3 male and female overall, top masters 40+ male and female for first through third, and top 3 male and female in multiple age groups from 1-4 through 75 plus.
