Fort McClellan Credit Union Janney Furnace 5K
The event is a chip timed 5K held at the historic Janney Furnace site in Ohatchee, Alabama. The course is USATF certified and described as rolling and fast, routing past the historic Janney Furnace and through downtown Ohatchee. The race start is located in front of the Janney Furnace at 145 Janney Road and the finish is at the Janney Furnace Museum. An award ceremony follows the finish.
Proceeds benefit Friends of Janney Furnace and the Anniston Lions Local Sight Fund. Registration carries a fee of $20.00. Registration opens on 9/3/2026 and closes on 9/18/2026.
The first 100 registered runners receive a long sleeve tech race shirt; additional shirts on race day are available while supplies last. Overall awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers and those overall winners are removed from age group awards. Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each category for both male and female competitors. Age groups are: 14 and under; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 34; 35 to 39; 40 to 44; 45 to 49; 50 to 54; 55 to 59; 60 to 64; 65 to 69; and 70 and over.
