Fort McClellan Credit Union Janney Furnace 5K
The event is a 5K road race held on October 17, 2026, at Janney Furnace Park, 145 Janney Road, Ohatchee, AL 36271. The course is USATF certified and described as a rolling route that passes the historic Janney Furnace and continues through downtown Ohatchee.
Proceeds benefit Friends of Janney Furnace and the Anniston Lions Local Sight Program. The event program includes food, door prizes, and awards. Results will be chip timed using reusable shoe chips.
Entry information lists an entry fee of $25 and a race day fee of $30. Pre-registration by October 1 guarantees a long sleeve tech shirt; after that date shirts are available while supplies last.
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female overall finishers, and to the top three finishers in each listed age category for both sexes. Age categories include 14 & under, then 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & over.
