Plucked Turkey 10K
The Plucked Turkey 10K is an Anniston Runners Club road race held on Thanksgiving morning. The event uses a certified 6.2 mile (10K) rolling loop through the Golden Springs community and starts and finishes in front of the Norwood Hodges Community Center in Anniston, Alabama.
The course is certified and chip timed, so results can be used for events that require corral timing. Aid stations are provided at miles 2 and 4, and at the finish line. Walkers are allowed and families may participate together. The event benefits the YMCA.
Entry details include an opening price of $35, with the price increasing after October 31, 2025 at 11:59pm CDT. Runners registered by October 31 are guaranteed a long sleeve t-shirt; shirts are allocated to later registrants as available. Early packet pick-up is offered the day before the race at the ARC/NEABA headquarters, and additional check-in is available at the community center on race morning.
Awards are presented by finishing order and by age group. Overall male and female winners receive a turkey breast from Honey Baked Ham Company, and the second and third overall finishers receive pies. Age groups for awards are 9 and under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
