Plucked Turkey 10k - Anniston, AL
The Plucked Turkey 10k is scheduled for Thursday, November 26, 2026, in Anniston, Alabama. The event uses a USATF certified 6.2 mile course through the Golden Springs community and features chip timing with the timing chip attached to the race bib. The start and finish are located at the Norwood Hodges Community Center, 3125 Spring Valley Rd, Anniston, AL 36207.
The event is hosted by the Anniston Runners Club and the YMCA and benefits the YMCA. There is also a food drive to collect nonperishable items for local food banks. Walkers are welcome and there is no age minimum; minors must be registered by a parent or legal guardian.
Awards include a Turkey Breast for the overall male and female winners courtesy of The Honey Baked Ham Company and pies for overall second and third place finishers. Age group awards for male and female categories are 9 and under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and over. Anyone who breaks a course record will receive a $50 reward; if declined, the amount will be donated to a charity or school athletic program.
Packet pick-up is available the day before at the ARC/NEABA headquarters and race day check-in is inside the Norwood Hodges Community Center. Course rules prohibit bicycles, in-line skates, non-official wheeled vehicles, and pets; strollers with infants are allowed from the back of the field. Earbuds are strongly discouraged.
