The James Joyce Ramble is a multidimensional sports event that combines athletic competition with a celebration of literature, art, and human rights. Based at the historic Endicott Estate in Dedham, Massachusetts, the event features a central 10 km run. For the 2026 edition, the race serves as the host for the USATF 10K National Masters Championship, attracting competitive runners from across the country.

The event structure includes several different activities:

  • 10 km Citizen Ramble
  • 10 km USATF Masters Championship
  • 4.5 mile Take-A-Walk fitness event

The 10 km course is known for its unique atmosphere, incorporating historical elements and literary readings along the route. The "Take-A-Walk" companion event follows a 4.5 mile path where participants may encounter actors performing various roles. For younger participants, the North Star Children’s Ramble offers a literacy-themed fitness run on the grounds of the Endicott fairway.

On-site parking is available at the estate for those arriving early. The event operates with a focus on charity and community involvement, utilizing volunteers for water stations, exposition support, and staff positions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
