Event overview
The James Joyce Ramble is an annual road race centered on a literary theme and presented as a charity event that celebrates art and human rights. The main race distance is 10K and the event has served as the host for the USATF 10K National Masters Championship (2025). The Ramble includes companion events:
- 4.5 miles - Dedham Savings “Take-A-Walk,” a scenic route that features actors along the course.
- North Star Children’s Ramble - a literacy-themed kids’ fun run held in the same weekend; this children’s event has preceded the main 10K for more than two decades.
Parking is available on the grounds of the Endicott Estate for early arrivals and participants are asked to respect neighborhood parking when using other areas.
