Jackalope Jam event overview

The Jackalope Jam is a timed trail running event held at 7IL Ranch just outside Cat Spring and Bellville, Texas, during February 17 to February 21, 2027. The event offers multiple solo timed options including 1 hour, 3 hour, 6 hour, 12 hour, 24 hour, 48 hour, 72 hour, and 100 hour durations, plus a 24 Hour Relay for teams and separate ruck divisions. There are also a kids run and a beer mile.

The course is a flat, fast 2-mile out-and-back on short-grass and gravel farm road with a one-mile out marker known as the "Cone of Death". Participants complete as many full 2-mile laps as they choose within their selected duration; only completed laps count. Longer event participants commonly take extended breaks, sleep, set up personal aid along the course, or leave and later return to continue.

A fully stocked main aid station will be located at the start and finish, offering real food options for overnight participants. The ranch provides a barn and pavilion staging area, ample parking, on-site camping, washroom and shower facilities, and RV hookup spots with RV reservations handled separately through CampSpot. Runners are encouraged to set up tents and crew areas along the course.

All participants receive a mounted jackalope head and either a race shirt or hoodie depending on event distance, plus a participant keepsake. Solo competitors who reach 100 kilometers or more earn a buckle, with milestone buckles for standard increments such as 100k, 100 miles, 150 miles, and 200 miles. Bonus patches are available for ruck participants.

Relay format and rules: teams may have 2 to 6 members and may exchange runners only in the exchange area at the start and finish after completing laps. Team membership can be changed by the team captain until registration closes; teams cannot be adjusted after registration closes. Each time a new team member registers, previous members receive a $10 refund for that addition. Teams compete in all male, all female, or coed divisions with a minimum of two female members required for coed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
