Event overview
The San Felipe Shootout is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Stephen F. Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas. The event offers multiple race options:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
- The Triple (combines the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon back-to-back-to-back for a cumulative time)
- Kids K (non-timed, open to ages 12 and under)
Shootout participants in the Triple must start each race at the official start. Finishers receive unique medals for the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon; Triple participants collect all three. Overall and masters first-place awards are presented with shotgun shells for male and female winners.
Venue and logistics
The event takes place at Park Rd 38, San Felipe, TX 77473, on the banks of the Brazos River. The park offers about 6 miles of hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, geocaching, and a range of campsites, including pull-through RV sites and tent campsites. Packet pickup is available on the day before and on race day at the SFASP Dining Hall. Registered participants and volunteers do not need a guest park pass; guests age 13 and older require a special event pass for park entry, event access, live music, and parking.
