Bridge to Bridge Run : Peoria, IL
The Bridge to Bridge Run is a four mile road and trail race that starts on the Rock Island Greenway Trail near RC Outfitters at 311 SW Water St, Peoria, and crosses the Illinois River into East Peoria via the Bob Michel Bridge pedestrian path. The route follows the Greenway and city sidewalks, turns onto the Riverfront Trail, runs along the river under I 74, passes the rear of Bass Pro, and reaches a turnaround at a motel parking lot before returning to the start area.
The main distance is 4 miles. Water stops are provided near the 1 and 3 mile markers, at the 2 mile turnaround, and at the start and finish area. Packet pickup is available at RC Outfitters in the days before the event and on race day; shirts and packets must be collected at packet pickup.
Post race activities take place at the CEFCU Center Stage near the Peoria Riverfront Museum and Caterpillar Visitor Center. Food is provided by Olive Garden and a live band supplies music during the celebration. Awards include overall top male and top female prizes, age group trophies for top age group finishers, and door prize drawings for present participants. Prize offerings include gift certificates and other sponsor contributions. Discount codes are offered to Illinois Valley Striders members and other eligible groups; one discount code may be applied per entry.
