Bridge to Bridge Run
The Bridge to Bridge Run is a 4-mile race held in Peoria, Illinois. Since its inception in 2012, the event has established itself as a significant fixture in the local running community. The competition is part of the Illinois Valley Striders (IVS) Grand Prix Series.
The event features a single distance:
- 4 Mile Run
The course begins on the Rock Island Greenway Trail across from RC Outfitters. It leads participants south along the Greenway, crossing Water Street and Washington Street before reaching the Bob Michel Bridge. Runners utilize the pedestrian path on the bridge to cross the Illinois River into East Peoria. After descending the bridge, the route turns onto the Riverfront Trail, passing under I-74 and behind the Bass Pro Shops. A turnaround point is located at the motel parking lot at the end of the trail, where participants then retrace their steps back to the start-finish line. Water stations are positioned near mile markers 1 and 3, as well as at the mile 2 turnaround.
A post-race celebration takes place at the CEFCU Center Stage, located north of the Peoria Riverfront Museum. The gathering includes live music and hot food, such as pasta and breadsticks provided by Olive Garden. Awards are presented to top overall male and female finishers and top participants in age groups ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over. Race packets and shirts are available for pickup at RC Outfitters on the Saturday preceding the event or early on race morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
