Strides for Justice : 19th Annual 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk
Strides for Justice is a community running and walking event held in Peoria Heights, Illinois on September 12, 2026. The event raises funds and awareness for Prairie State Legal Services, with all proceeds benefiting the organization’s Peoria office. Timing and scoring are provided by ShaZam Racing.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk (timed)
- 5K Walk (untimed)
- 1 Mile Walk (untimed)
Registration includes tiered fees and a shirt guarantee for early registrants through August 31. Standard entry fees change after August 31 and on race day; family pricing discounts apply for families of four or more when all family members register in the same transaction. The family discount works for both the 5K and the 1 mile walk.
Packet pickup is available Friday, September 11 at RC Outfitters and on the event day at Tower Park. Race packets may be picked up on behalf of friends or family.
The 5K course starts and finishes near the intersection of Grandview Drive and Prospect Road. Awards include overall male and female winners by gun time and age group awards by net time for multiple age divisions. A post-race awards ceremony will be held at Oliver’s in the Heights.
