Strides for Justice : Peoria Heights
Strides for Justice is the 19th annual community event featuring a 5K run/walk and a 1 Mile walk held at Tower Park on East Kingman Avenue in Peoria Heights, IL on September 12, 2026. The event raises funds for the Peoria office of Prairie State Legal Services and aims to increase awareness about affordable legal representation for underserved people in Central Illinois.
Race offerings:
- 5K Run/Walk (timed and untimed options)
- 1 Mile Walk (untimed)
Registration pricing follows an early bird structure: base fees of $30 early bird, $35 after August 31, and $40 on race day. A family pricing discount applies for four or more family members registered in the same transaction; early bird family pricing is $100 for four or more, rising to $120 after August 31 and $140 on race day. Event shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by August 31.
Packet pickup is available Friday, September 11 (11:00am–1:00pm and 4:00pm–6:00pm) at RC Outfitters and on race day at the venue (7:00am–8:00am). The 5K course starts and finishes near the intersection of Grandview Drive and Prospect Road. Timing and scoring are provided by ShaZam Racing.
Awards include overall top male and female by gun time and age-group awards by net time; age groups run from 14 and under through 70 and over. A post-race awards ceremony will be held at Oliver’s in the Heights. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
