Isle of Wight Marathon
The Isle of Wight Marathon is a single-lap road marathon held on the west of the island. The 2026 race marks the 70th men’s running and the 51st women’s running of this event, which has been held continuously since 1957.
Entries are managed online with a field limit of 400 and a minimum age of 18 years. Entry fees vary by affiliation and by date; on-the-day entries may be possible if the race has not sold out. Numbers and timing chips are issued at registration. Transfers, withdrawals and refunds are handled via the entry portal and follow a published refund policy.
The course uses quieter town and rural roads through Cowes, Gurnard, Rew Street, Porchfield, Shalfleet, Yarmouth, Thorley, Chessell, Ningwood and Northwood. Marker boards appear at each mile. Water stations (water only) are positioned at roughly 3.5 mile intervals:

Race HQ is Isle of Wight Community Club, Park Road, Cowes. Changing, shower facilities and bag storage are available and limited free parking is provided at the finish venue. There are no public or race-provided toilets on course, but several local businesses have agreed to allow runners to use facilities.
The race operates under UKA rules and holds a race licence. The official finish time limit is 6 hours 30 minutes. In-ear and over-ear headphones are not permitted and running with dogs is prohibited. Medals are awarded to all finishers. Prize money and awards are provided for overall and veteran categories, and bonuses are available for course records.
