Sandown & Shanklin Isle of Wight Seafront 10K
This event is a UKA affiliated 10 km run held on the Isle of Wight, using an out and back route along the Sandown and Shanklin seafront. The course is accurately measured and mostly follows seafront promenades, with sections on firm sandy beaches and cliff top trails that provide sea views. Runners pass esplanades, wooded sections and local landmarks along the route.
Course records are listed for male and female fields with times of 31:50 (male, 2023) and 36:50 (female, 2017). Awards include trophies for the first three male and female finishers, a bespoke medal and spot prizes. The organisers publish results after the event.
Facilities and services on race day include public toilets at Browns Pluto's Café, a bag drop at Pluto's Café, first aid provision and water stations at various points on the course. Parking information notes free parking at Browns and a paid option of £3 for three hours at the nearby zoo car park. On day registration is available. The event supports the charity Sport In Mind.
