Sandown & Shanklin Isle of Wight Seafront 10K
This event is a 10 kilometre out and back road race along the seafront between Sandown and Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. The route includes flat promenade sections, firm sandy beach running and cliff-top trails with panoramic sea views. Runners pass esplanades, wooded stretches and local historic landmarks.
The course is accurately measured and described as seafront promenade terrain. Course records are listed as Male 31:50 (2023) and Female 36:50 (2017). Trophies are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and a bespoke medal and spot prizes are provided.
Practical details note the assembly location as Browns Family Golf and Pluto's Café on Yaverland Road, Sandown PO36 8QA. The event is UKA affiliated. Facilities and services include public toilets at Pluto's Café, a bag drop at Pluto's Café, first aid cover and water provided at various points on the course. Results are published by the organiser. Parking is free at Browns and there is a paid car park at the nearby Isle of Wight Zoo with a stated fee for three hours.
