Isle Of Wight Fell Race Series
The Isle Of Wight Fell Race Series is a three-race fell running series based at St Catherine’s School, Grove Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight PO38 1TT. The races take place on 11 and 12 September 2027 and incorporate the SEAA Fell Running Championships. Entry is limited to 400 runners, with online entry required for SEAA championship qualification. The closing date for entries is 6 September 2027; on-the-day entries may be available for cash only unless the race sells out. Withdrawals or transfers are not permitted after the closing date.
Distances and ascents:
- Race 1 The St Boniface Fell: 3.8 km, 235 m ascent
- Race 2 The Ventnor Horseshoe: 12 km, 443 m ascent
- Race 3 The Wroxall Round: 21 km, 487 m ascent
Entry fees are £10 per race, £25 for the series, and £8 for under-20s in Race 1. Numbers are issued at registration on race day. Only Race 3 has a water station at about 7.5 miles; littering outside water stations is prohibited. The course includes stiles and rough terrain and is not suitable for wheelchairs.
The event is run under Fell Runners Association rules. GPS may not be used for navigation, walking poles are not permitted, and non-conformance can lead to disqualification. Photographic and video coverage may be taken for event promotion. The race HQ is a nut-free venue with changing facilities and showers; parking at the venue is very limited with on-street parking nearby. Headphones are not permitted, bone conducting devices are allowed, and dogs are not permitted.
