Island View Endurance Run
The Island View Endurance Run is a multi-distance trail running event organized by the Santa Barbara County Trails Council on the Gaviota Coast of California. The event takes place October 24 and 25, 2026, with the start area at the Baron Ranch Trailhead between Santa Barbara and Buellton. Distances offered include loop courses from short to ultra distances.
The course travels through Los Padres National Forest and the Santa Ynez Mountains, combining ranch roads and single track that climb canyons to ridgelines and Gaviota Peak. The route passes through chaparral and coastal riparian zones and is described as having significant elevation change on several courses. Listed elevation gain values include 24,059 feet for the 100 mile course, 15,994 feet for the 100 km course, 7,999 feet for the 50 km course, and 3,663 feet for the 25 km course.
Entry options include race shirts and finisher items, nutrition products, race photos, EMT support, a runner’s guide, drop bag valet on longer distances, finish line water and food, and awards for top finishers. Aid station counts vary by distance, with multiple stations on the longer races and two stations listed for the 25 km course.
