Alameda Island Running Festival
The Alameda Island Running Festival is a one-day running event held on Alameda Point with start and finish at City Hall West and an on-site Health and Wellness expo on the grass area. The event includes multiple chip timed races and a family fun run.
Distances offered:
- 13.1 Miles Island Half Marathon
- 6.2 Miles Island 10K Run
- 3.1 Miles Island 5K Run / Walk
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
Course notes describe single-loop layouts for the half and 10K, with shoreline out-and-back segments and several Alameda landmarks. The 10K and 5K include recently opened trails on Alameda Point and on-course aid stations. Water stops are listed for each distance on course maps.
Event services include packet pickup at nearby locations in the days before the race, a race weekend expo, bibs and shirts for participants, finisher medals, post-event food and beer, and bike parking. A medical team and a finish-area medical station will be available and course medical staff will patrol during the races.
Participation policies: jogging strollers are permitted but should start toward the back; wheelchair athletes are allowed with speed restrictions for safety; no bicycles, scooters, skateboards or dogs are allowed on course. A portion of registration proceeds will be donated to the Alameda Education Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
