Alameda Island Running Festival
The Alameda Island Running Festival takes place on September 20, 2026, at Alameda Point with the start and finish located outside City Hall West. A health and wellness expo presented by Alameda Health Systems is held on the grass overlooking the Port of Oakland.
Distances offered at the event include:
- 13.1 miles Island Half Marathon
- 6.2 miles Island 10K Run
- 3.1 miles Island 5K Run / Walk
- 1 mile Family Fun Run
All participants receive a t-shirt, a finisher medal, and post event food, beer and refreshments. Packet pick up is available before race day at Lauren's Closet and at the race expo at 950 West Mall Drive.
The event is chip timed and participants may run, jog, or walk the entire course. Jogging strollers are permitted and asked to start at the back of the pack. Wheelchair athletes are permitted but must not travel faster than the fastest runner. No bikes, scooters, skateboards or other wheeled vehicles are allowed on the race courses. Dogs are not allowed on the course or at the finish line. Bike parking is provided.
A dedicated paramedics team will be on site, with a medical station near the finish line and team members roaming the course. Water stops are located at set mile markers for each distance. A portion of registrations will be donated to the Alameda Education Foundation and volunteers support event operations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
