Alameda Island Running Festival
The Alameda Island Running Festival takes place on September 20, 2026 in Alameda, California. All races start and end at Faction Brewing Company, 2501 Monarch St, with the race expo located inside the nearby hangar.
The event day includes multiple race distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K Run / Walk
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
Race weekend includes a Health and Wellness expo presented by Alameda Health Systems, and packet pick-up on the days before the race as well as at the venue during race weekend.
Course information and highlights: the half marathon course is modified into two flat loops due to city construction. All courses are described as flat and fast and pass Alameda Point trails, the estuary shoreline, the USS Hornet, and nearby skyline views.
Timing and participant rules: the event is chip timed. Jogging strollers are permitted and asked to start near the back. Wheelchair athletes are permitted but must not travel faster than the fastest runner. Bikes, scooters, skateboards and dogs are not allowed on the course. Bike parking is provided at the venue.
Medical and aid: a paramedics team is on site, a medical station will be near the finish, and water stops are provided along each course.
Participants receive a custom T shirt, a finisher medal, a race bib, and food and drink at the finish. A portion of registrations is donated to the Alameda Education Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
