Event overview
The Alameda Island Running Festival takes place on September 20, 2026, in Alameda, California. All races start and finish at Faction Brewery, 2501 Monarch St. The event includes these distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
The festival is a chip-timed event. Every participant receives a custom T-shirt, a finishers medal, a race bib, and food and drink at the finish. A portion of registration fees is donated to the Alameda Education Foundation. A Health and Wellness expo presented by Alameda Health Systems is held at the venue hangar during the race weekend.
Logistics and course
Packet pick-up is available on the days before the race at Lauren's Closet, 1420 Park St, and at the venue during the race weekend. Bike parking is provided at Faction Brewery and additional parking is available around Alameda Point.
The half marathon will use a modified course with two flat loops because of city construction. Courses feature Alameda Point trails, estuary shoreline sections, views of the USS Hornet, and coastal skyline views. Water stops are placed as follows: Half - miles 2, 5.5 and 11; 10K - miles 2 and 5.5; 5K - miles 2 and 2.5. A dedicated paramedics team and a medical station near the finish will provide on-site medical support.
Race rules: jogging strollers are permitted (start toward the back), wheelchair athletes are permitted with speed restrictions, and no bikes, scooters, skateboards, or dogs are allowed on the courses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
