Island Running Festival : Alameda, CA
The Island Running Festival is a multievent road race that starts and ends at Faction Brewery, 2501 Monarch Street, Alameda. The event includes a Health and Wellness expo presented by Alameda Health Systems held inside the hangar at the venue. A portion of registration fees is donated to the Alameda Education Foundation.
Race services and participant items provided include a custom T shirt, a finishers medal, a race bib, and food and drink at the finish area. The event is chip timed and allows running, jogging, and walking on the course. Jogging strollers are permitted and must start near the back of the field. Wheelchair athletes are permitted with course speed restrictions for safety. Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and dogs are not allowed on the course. Faction Brewery offers secure bike parking near the venue and additional parking is available around Alameda Point.
Medical support includes an on site paramedics team, a medical station near the finish, and roaming aid along the course. Water stops are provided as follows: Half Marathon at mile 2, 5.5 and 11; 10K at mile 2 and 5.5; 5K at mile 2 and 2.5.
