Event overview
The Alameda Island Running Festival takes place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Alameda, CA. All races start and end at Faction Brewery (2501 Monarch St, Alameda Point). The festival includes multiple race options:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K Run / Walk (presented by Penumbra)
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
A portion of registration proceeds is donated to the Alameda Education Foundation. The event features a Health and Wellness expo presented by Alameda Health Systems.
Logistics and race details
The festival is a chip-timed event and allows running, jogging, or walking. Jogging strollers are permitted and requested to start at the back of the field. Wheelchair athletes are permitted but must not travel faster than the fastest runner due to safety and street closure restrictions. No bikes, scooters, skateboards or other wheeled vehicles are allowed on the courses. Dogs are not allowed on the course or at the finish area. Bike parking is available at the venue.
Packet pick-up is scheduled the weekend before the race at Lauren's Closet (1420 Park St) and at the race expo at Faction Brewery. A paramedics team and a medical station will be on site, with roaming course support. Water stops are located as follows:
- Half: Mile 2, 5.5 and 11
- 10K: Mile 2 and 5.5
- 5K: Mile 2 and 2.5
