IRONMAN 70.3 New York
IRONMAN 70.3 New York is a long-distance triathlon held at Jones Beach, New York. The event features a point-to-point course that utilizes the coastal landscape outside of New York City. The competition consists of three distinct segments:
- Swim: A sheltered swim in the protected waters of Zach's Bay.
- Bike: A 56-mile flat course on the Wantagh Parkway, which is completely closed to vehicular traffic for the duration of the event.
- Run: A flat course that takes participants along the Jones Beach Boardwalk next to the Atlantic Ocean.
The race environment generally experiences average high air temperatures of 73 °F (23 °C) and average low temperatures of 62 °F (16 °C). The average water temperature in the bay is typically around 65 °F (18 °C).
The event serves as a qualifying race for the 2027 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
