Event overview
The Love in Action 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 11, 2025 at Venetian Shores Park in Lindenhurst, NY. The event is held rain or shine and includes a kids fun run and a 5K run/walk. Proceeds benefit The McGarry "Love in Action" Foundation to raise funds and awareness for young people leaving foster care and to provide financial support to families affected by cancer.

Registration fees vary by date and include processing fees; listed examples are $28.63 (early), $33.80 (Sept 13 rate), and $38.98 (race day). The first 50 registrants receive shirts. Personalized bibs are provided if registered three weeks in advance.
Amenities listed include bagels, water, coffee, snacks, live online/text/email results, and free finish line photos. An after party is planned at Sand City South with discounted drafts for participants and volunteers. Bib pickup options include in-person early pickup at Sand City Brewing Co. on October 10, race day pickup with event staff, and shipped bibs for virtual participants.
