Sri Chinmoy Heart-Garden 2-Mile Run
The Sri Chinmoy Heart-Garden 2-Mile Run is an annual community event held in Flushing Meadows Park, Queens, New York, on October 10, 2026. The event centers on a 2-mile run/walk and includes children's fun runs and a Peace Run program. Entry is free and registration is available only on race day.
The event recognizes outstanding citizens who reflect the self-giving and self-transcending ideals promoted by Sri Chinmoy. It is sponsored by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team and the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run. The Heart-Garden and an 800 m loop named Sri Chinmoy Street were dedicated in October 2006 as a tribute to Sri Chinmoy’s promotion of fitness and integral health.
Event activities combine running with a community ceremony at Meadowlark Circle near Meadow Lake. The post-race program includes a peace walk carrying a peace torch, torch-bearer awards honoring distinguished guests, brief inspirational remarks, and the distribution of gifts and refreshments. The race staging area is near the Unisphere and Meadowlark Circle at the north end of Meadow Lake. The nearest subway access is Mets-Willets Point on the number 7 line, and there is a large free parking lot adjacent to the race staging area.
