Iron Knee / Tender Knee
The Iron Knee and Tender Knee are point-to-point races that start at Cleveland Park or the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve in North Vancouver and finish on the shores of Deep Cove. The routes follow mountain trails and include the Powerline climb, noted as a demanding section. Finishers receive a medal and post-race treats are provided at the Deep Cove finish area.
A shuttle bus runs from the finish back to the respective start areas; shuttle tickets must be purchased in advance and a fee applies. The course has an official closing time at 1:00 p.m. Event rules and safety guidelines are published by the organizer.
Aid stations are placed along the routes and offer water, electrolyte drink, gels, snacks such as cookies and chews, and first aid supplies. The series operates as a cup-less event, so participants need to bring their own drinking container for aid stations and the finish area.
An orientation run is offered as a point-to-point outing; participants must arrange drop off and pick up logistics. GPX route files are provided for the orientation runs and race routes. Bib pickup is available before race day at the Running Room in North Vancouver and on race day at the start locations. Awards are presented to the top three in each gender category.
