Buckin’ Hell - Overview
Buckin’ Hell is a trail race held at Mt Seymour Resort in North Vancouver, BC on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Distance options are:
- 35 km
- 50 km
- 50 km two-person relay
A kids race of about 1 km is offered; it is untimed, non-competitive, free to enter, and registration includes an optional donation to Butterfly Support Network. The event acknowledges that it takes place on the ancestral and unceded territories of the səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and S’ólh (Stó:lō) Nations.
Course and race details
Both the 35 km and 50 km start and finish at Mount Seymour Resort, with the initial route climbing directly up the mountain. The 35 km course lists approximately +1700 m / -1700 m of elevation change and ITRA 2 points; the 50 km course lists approximately +2500 m / -2500 m and ITRA 3 points. The relay splits the 50 km into two legs of 25.0 km (+878 m / -1691 m) and 25.3 km (+1732 m / -915 m). Named trails on course include Baden Powell, Mystery Lake, Severed, Brockton Lookout and Old Buck.
Aid stations are provided along each course and drop bags are permitted at specified locations. The race is cupless - competitors must carry their own cup for fluids. Poles are allowed from the start. No mandatory gear is listed. Finishers receive a medal that doubles as a bottle opener; awards are presented to the top three per gender and top three relay teams.
