Ipswich Ale Half Marathon
The Ipswich Ale Half Marathon is scheduled for April 24, 2027, at Crane Beach in Ipswich, MA. The event is a half marathon that starts and finishes at Crane Beach and uses nearby public roads and neighborhoods for the course.
The route climbs up and around the Crane Estate in the first mile, a section referred to as "Storming the Castle!" Runners then head west on Argilla Road, passing open farmland, salt marshes and traditional New England stone walls. The course continues through neighborhoods along the Ipswich River, includes a turnaround, then returns to Argilla Road for the final four miles back to the beach finish.
After the finish, the event offers traditional runner recovery food, fresh pizza, grilled hot dogs and two free Ipswich Ale beers. The race is hosted by the Ipswich Family YMCA and the Ipswich-Rowley Rotary. Proceeds are used by the Ipswich Family YMCA and the Ipswich-Rowley Rotary Charitable Trust to support local charities.
