About the race
The Ipswich Ale Half Marathon is a road running event held on 04/24/2027 at Crane Beach in Ipswich, MA. The race is organized by the Ipswich-Rowley Rotary and benefits local charities through the Ipswich-Rowley Rotary Charitable Trust.
The course starts and finishes at Crane Beach. Runners climb up and around the Crane Estate in the first mile, an element described as "Storming the Castle!" The route then heads west on Argilla Road, passing open farmland, salt marshes and traditional New England stone walls. The course continues through neighborhoods along the Ipswich River, includes a turnaround, and returns to Argilla Road for the final four miles back to the beach finish.
The event distance is 13.1 Miles. Registration opens 10/13/2026 and closes 03/21/2027; the listed registration fee is $99.00.
Onsite provisions after the race include traditional runner recovery food, fresh pizza, grilled hot dogs and two complimentary Ipswich Ale beers.
