The Ipswich Ale half marathon takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Ipswich, MA. The race is hosted by the Ipswich-Rowley Rotary and net proceeds support the Ipswich Rotary Charitable Trust for local charities and scholarships. Registration is scheduled to open in mid-October and the field is capped; if the field sells out there may be no race day registration. The event includes a post-race party with food options and beverage availability. Registered runners receive a race t-shirt and an official finisher’s medal.
Course and race details
The course starts and finishes at Crane Beach on Argilla Road and includes an initial climb around the Crane Estate in the first mile. Total ascent on the course is 576 feet with a maximum elevation of 157 feet; the terrain is described as generally rolling. The course is not certified but has been measured. Support on course includes police officers, course marshals, volunteers and medical personnel at the start/finish area. There are five water stops at approximately miles 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10 and 11.5, with Gatorade available at the 5 and 10 mile stops. Porta johns are available at the start/finish area and on course at about miles 4.5, 7.5 and 9.5. There is no bag drop; free parking for runners and spectators is in the Crane Beach parking lot. The race enforces a three-hour course time limit. Cash awards are planned for top finishers and for top Ipswich residents; age group cash awards will not be offered.
