Event Overview
The Instant Classic is a multi-distance running event held at Rose Rudman Park in Tyler, Texas. Scheduled for late August, the event provides several options for participants of various interests, ranging from short sprints to longer distance runs. The 10K and 15K courses are designed as multi-lap routes, with the 10K consisting of two laps and the 15K covering three laps.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 15K
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile (untimed)
- Kid's Dash (100-200 meters)
Registration includes an event-themed participation t-shirt and a finisher medal cube for those completing the 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, or 15K. For the timed distances (5K, 10K, and 15K), age group awards are provided four deep across divisions ranging from under 4 years old to over 80. Overall, Masters (40+), and Grand Masters (60+) winners also receive specialty medals. All awards are distributed on-site following the conclusion of the races.
The Kid's Dash is a free 100-200 meter sprint held before the main races to introduce younger children to a racing environment. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race option is available, where materials are shipped directly to the participant. The event also supports charitable efforts, with 10% of profits donated to Encounter Church in Fate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
