Indian Queens Half Marathon
The Indian Queens Half Marathon is the 44th running of a volunteer organised event based at the Recreation Ground in Indian Queens, Cornwall. Money raised is split between local groups and charities.
The course includes around five miles on the firm Goss Moor Trail and sections on country lanes, with a total climb of 140 metres. Trail sections can be muddy and uneven, sometimes with craters, and may contain hazards such as cows, ponies, adders and ticks. The final 800 metres of the route are traffic free; the rest of the route remains open to other users. The entrance to the Recreation Ground has speed humps and a one way system near the finish area.
Facilities at race headquarters in the youth club building include toilets and mobile catering; there are no showers and changing is available at Victory Hall. A baggage facility is provided. Chip timing is used for results, with the main timing chip worn on the ankle and removed in the finish funnel. Results and awards follow Cornish Grand Prix rules and include overall and age-group prizes; medals and technical shirts are gender specific.
Entry rules include a minimum age of 17, a 3 hour cut-off, and bans on headphones, dogs, cycles, pushchairs and outside assistance. Free parking is available at several nearby locations; there is no parking at the Recreation Ground. Refund and transfer conditions apply as set by the organisers.
