About the race
In the Woods 30A 50K is a trail ultramarathon held from the Point Washington State Forest Eastern Lake Trailhead. The solo course is 50K and consists of three identical laps through pine forests with multiple creek crossings. There is also a relay option in which team members each complete a full lap; event materials reference two- and three-person relays for awards.
Trails include natural trail features such as rocks, roots, stumps, large mud puddles and extensive sand. The organizer notes runners should expect dirty shoes at the finish. Registrants receive a long sleeve tech shirt (shirt guaranteed for registrations by February 6) and all finishers receive a finisher medal.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in the men’s and women’s solo races, to the top three teams in the two- and three-person relays, and to first place solo finishers in each age group. A special award called the U4 Club is presented to solo runners who complete the 50K in under four hours.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, February 19, 2027 at Fleet Feet Inlet Beach, 11299 US Hwy 98 E, Inlet Beach, FL 32461. The event page states that refunds will not be given if the event is cancelled; in that case runners may pick up swag and medals at Fleet Feet Inlet Beach.
