Overview
The In It For The Long Run event takes place in mid-May in Huntsville, Alabama. It is described as the first 24-hour running event in Huntsville. The event is held at Milton Frank Stadium, located at 2801 15th Ave SW.
Event Format
The event features a flexible, traditional 24-hour format where participants may run continuously or take breaks as needed. Alongside the 24-hour event, other timed and distance options are available. Participants can set up personal tents, as overnight camping is permitted. The event aims to create an inclusive environment.
Race Distances
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 24-hour timed event
- 12-hour timed event (teams of up to 6 members are permitted)
- 6-hour timed event
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- 50K (50 kilometers)
- 50 Mile (50 miles)
Course and Facilities
The course is a flat, looped route on the all-weather synthetic running track at Milton Frank Stadium. The modern rubberized surface provides a smooth and consistent running environment. Aid and food stations will be available, though runners are encouraged to bring their preferred nutrition. The event will be chip-timed.
Awards
Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers in each race category. Special finisher awards are available for all participants, with buckles awarded for the 24-hour/100-mile achievement. Awards are also given to the top three male and female finishers and the top three male and female masters in each event. There are no age group awards. Team awards are given for the 12-hour and 24-hour events.
