Event Details

The Frozen Yeti is the first race in the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series. It takes place at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The event offers two distances: a 5 Mile and a 10 Mile trail run.

Course and Series

The course features bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings, and waterfalls. The series includes three winter races designed to help runners increase their distances. The event is a cupless race; participants must bring their own handheld bottle, pack, or reusable cup. Paper cups are not provided at aid stations.

Registration and Participation

Registration is capped at 400 runners. All participants receive a t-shirt and a finisher award. The t-shirt is the same for the entire series. The event has age group awards. Average winter temperatures in Huntsville range from lows of 25°F-35°F to highs of 45°F-55°F.

On-Site Information

Several aid stations on the course provide water, Gatorade, cola, GU energy gels, pretzels, M&M's, and granola bars. Marco's Pizza is a series sponsor, with pizza available for participants at the finish line. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the RunningLane store in Huntsville.
