Frozen Yeti

Frozen Yeti is a trail race held at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL. It is the first race of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series and offers two distance options:

  • 10 Miler
  • 5 Miler

The field is capped at 400 runners. All entrants receive a short sleeve tri-blend race shirt and a finisher award; the race shirt is the same design for the entire series. Course features include bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings, and waterfalls. Several aid stations are placed on course offering water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M’s, and granola bars.

This event follows a cupless policy: runners must carry a handheld bottle, pack, or reusable cup. A reusable cup is available for purchase at checkout for $5. Age groups are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Cutoffs are very loose; long series participants should expect a 17 minute per mile cutoff and those unable to maintain roughly 15 minute miles are advised to consider shorter distances.

Packet pickup is available at the RunningLane store in Huntsville, and participants may pick up packets for others. Volunteer shifts are offered with entry incentives for future RunningLane events based on hours worked. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
