Event information
Frozen Yeti is the first race of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series, held at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL (5105 Nolen Ave SE). The event offers the following distances:
- 5 Mile
- 10 Mile
The field is capped at 400 runners. All entrants in the Frozen Yeti 5 Mile and 10 Mile receive a short sleeve tri-blend race shirt and a finisher award. Age groups for all races are: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Course and logistics
The trail courses include bluff views, creek crossings and waterfalls. Several aid stations are provided with water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and other items. The event is a cupless race; participants must use a hand-held bottle, pack or reusable cup. A running cup is available for purchase at checkout for $5.
Packet pickup is the day before the race at the RunningLane store, located at 2407 Memorial Parkway SW Suite 1, Huntsville, AL. The Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series includes two additional races in January with short and long distances. The race limits include a 17 minute per mile cutoff for Long Series participants.
