Frozen Yeti : Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series, Monte Sano State Park

Frozen Yeti is the first race of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series held in late December at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL. The event offers trail distances over natural terrain with several bluff views, creek crossings, waterfalls and mountain scenery.

The race is capped at 400 runners. All participants receive a short sleeve tri-blend race shirt and a finisher award; the shirt design is the same for the entire series. Aid stations on course provide water, Gatorade, cola, energy gel, pretzels, candy, and granola bars. The event is a cupless race; runners must carry a handheld bottle, pack or reusable cup. A reusable cup is available for purchase at checkout for five dollars.

Packet pickup is available at the RunningLane store with scheduled pickup hours. Age groups are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+ for all races. There are very loose cutoffs; long series participants may face a 17 minute per mile cutoff. The race is part of a three-race winter series that includes both short and long race distances and takes place across late December and January.
