Frozen Yeti
Frozen Yeti is the first race in the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series held at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The event offers trail distances of 5 Mile and 10 Mile and is capped at 400 runners. Courses include bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings, and waterfalls. Several aid stations are placed on course and will provide water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and similar items. This is a cupless race; participants must carry a handheld bottle, pack, or reusable cup. A RunningLane reusable cup is available for purchase for $5.
All entrants in the 5 Mile and 10 Mile receive a short sleeve tri blend race shirt and a finisher award. Age groups are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. The organizer states there will be very loose cutoffs with a 17 minute per mile cutoff for Long Series participants and recommends those who cannot maintain 15 minute miles consider shorter distances. Marco's Pizza is a series sponsor and will provide pizza at the finish line. Registration closes on Wed, Dec 16 at 11:59 PM CT. Packet pickup is handled through the RunningLane store in Huntsville.
