Frozen Yeti : event overview
Frozen Yeti is a trail running event at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL. The event offers two trail distances and is the first race of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series. The series includes three races with both short and long distance options during the winter months.

The course includes several bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings, and waterfalls. Several aid stations are provided on course offering water, Gatorade, cola, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and similar items. The race is a cupless event; runners must carry a handheld bottle, pack or reusable cup. A RunningLane reusable cup is available for purchase for $5 at checkout.
The event is capped at 400 runners. All registrants for the 5 Mile and 10 Mile receive a short sleeve tri-blend t-shirt and a finisher award; the shirt design is the same across the series. Age groups for awards are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
Organizers state there will be very loose cutoffs; participants unable to maintain 15 minute miles are advised to consider short series distances. Long series participants face a 17 minute per mile cutoff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
