Frozen Yeti
Frozen Yeti is the first race in the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series held at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The event offers two trail distances:
- 5 Mile
- 10 Mile
The courses include bluff views and mountain scenery, with creek crossings and waterfalls on the route. Several aid stations are placed along the course offering water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and similar items.
The event is a cupless race; participants must carry a handheld bottle, pack or reusable cup. A reusable RunningLane cup is available for purchase for $5. The field is capped at 400 runners. All entrants receive a short sleeve tri-blend race shirt that is the same shirt used for the entire series and a finisher award. Packet pickup is available at the RunningLane store and participants may pick up packets for others.
Age groups for awards are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 plus. There are very loose cutoffs with a suggested pace guideline and a 17 minute per mile cutoff for long series participants. Entries are nonrefundable and shirts or medals will not be mailed to participants who cannot attend. Volunteer shift rewards are offered for future event entries.
