Frozen Yeti at Monte Sano State Park
Frozen Yeti is a trail race held on December 19, 2026 at Monte Sano State Park, 5105 Nolen Ave SE, Huntsville, AL 35801. It is the first race of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series, a short winter series of trail events that runs from late December into January.

- 10 Mile trail distance
The event is organized by RunningLane Events and the field is capped at 400 runners. Entry fees range from USD 66.19 to 77.77. Registration closes on Wed, Dec 16 at 11:59PM CT. All entrants receive a short sleeve tri-blend race shirt and a finisher award; the same shirt is used for the entire series.
Course features include bluff views, creek crossings, and waterfalls. Several aid stations appear on course offering water, Gatorade, cola, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and similar items. This is a cupless race; participants must carry a handheld bottle, pack, or reusable cup. A RunningLane reusable cup is available for purchase for $5 at checkout.
Age groups are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Cutoffs are very loose, with a recommended pace guideline of 15 minute miles and a 17 minute per mile cutoff for Long Series participants. There are no refunds, deferrals, credits, or transfers and leftover shirts or medals are not mailed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
