Ilkley Triathlon
The Ilkley Triathlon is a club-run sprint-distance event organised by Leeds and Bradford Triathlon Club and held annually since 1992. The event uses the Ilkley Pool and Lido venue for transition and facilities, while the swim takes place in the indoor pool with extra-wide lanes.
Race distances are:
- 500 m swim indoor pool
- 14.5 km bike (three laps of a 4.8 km circuit)
- 4.8 km run (one lap of the same circuit)
The bike and run follow a 4.8 km circuit along Denton Road, Carter Lane, Curly Hill and Middleton Road. The first mile of the circuit is flat, the second mile rises uphill, and the third mile descends. The circuit runs on quiet lanes rather than closed roads, and normal road rules apply; crossing the central white line is an automatic disqualification.
Facilities include changing rooms with showers, a dedicated off-street car park, full catering, chip timing and a goodie bag. Equipment notes include a required helmet, a recommendation for a normal road bike rather than a time trial bike, and the need for bar-end plugs. Teams may enter with each member completing one discipline.
Entry fees listed by the organiser are Adult £42, Junior £21, Team £42. Non members require a BTF race pass. Refunds are available up to 23 August 2026, with specified amounts for adults and youths. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
